Who are The Rochester Sweet Peas?

Hey Moms!!! Are you looking for an enjoyable & active infant and toddler playgroup for your kids, as well as a  mom's club too, with activities for you as well? Well then, hang on by the seat of your pants and enjoy the ride! We invite you to come have FUN with us!

The parents of The Rochester Sweet Playgroup want to promote an encouraging, healthy, safe, creative environment for their children.  Our goal is to have fun activities almost DAILY! Our moms get together for in-home playgroups, music & movement, museum trips, outdoor activities, gym play, farm trips, exercise sessions, coffee mornings, lunch dates, dinner dates, picnics, movie nights, zoo trips, and much more!

 

About Us

Welcome! Are you looking for a great, supportive group of women and children for lifelong friendships and fun? If so, then please consider joining The Rochester Sweet Peas Playgroup! We are a group of moms and babies & toddlers who range in age birth to age four throughout the greater Rochester area. The group's age limit grows as the original babies grow. We are gladly accepting new fun & active members!

 

We love taking advantage of all the cool events going on around Rochester, and the surrounding suburbs, while doing FUN things as a group with and without our kids! Your children will love exposure to new places, playing outdoors & socializing with new "little people"!

 

Our group is comprised of a variety of women from all over the Rochester, NY area who either stay-at-home or have flexible work schedules, and that can participate in the group year-round.  *** The majority of our events are hosted during weekday mornings***.

 

We organize public events and private playgroups at various locations all around the greater Rochester area. Events are both organizer-led as well as member-driven. This allows members to enjoy various types of events at different times of the week, while allowing members to host events that coincide best with their schedules.

 

What is an “Active” Member?

Our definition of an “Active Member” is a mom who truly, “actively” participates in The Rochester Sweet Peas Playgroup! It is a mom who not only attends events and adheres to our Member Guidelines, but who also engages in group conversation, group activities, and message board thread conversations. An active member has true concerns for others in our group, and treats her fellow moms and their children with respect and care. If you are not this type of person, or are not looking for these qualities in other fellow playgroup moms, then our group may not be the best “fit” for your needs.

Our Goals

We want this group to be friendly, laid back, fun 'n' hip, and highly addicting! It is our hope that all of our moms want to provide their children with good health, good sense and good manners. We encourage learning and socializing. We want you to come out and have fun with us! If you happen to make new best-friends, then that's a bonus! We are aiming to have many active members, so you're always going to meet someone new & have an interesting conversation with another adult!

 

Our goal is to create an awesome bunch of ladies and their little ones who are outgoing, imaginative, active, down to earth, and just wanna have fun!

We're open to all moms who are in search of a group that's unique, energetic and upbeat. We're always looking for adventure, and we're not afraid to hop in our car & check out a new playground, restaurant, or local event in the Rochester area!

 

Who Should Not Apply

To uphold the goals of our group, please do not apply if you:

  • have a very limited schedule for attending meetups - our group is aimed at stay-at-home moms and moms with part-time, flexible careers in order to maintain our tight-knit community.
  • can only participate during the summer months/school breaks - once again, these schedules make it difficult for our kiddos to bond well when you are available on a limited basis.
  • are a playgroup "junkie", and have a few other playgroups that you are involved in - we want The Sweet Peas to be our members' main source of fun and commitment when it comes to activities!
  • live for drama - we are a drama-free playgroup!!!
